Peter M. Snyder

Peter M. Snyder, 69, of Seneca Road, passed away on 07-22-26 at Geneva General Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls with Rev. Leah Ntuala officiating.

Peter was born in Seneca Falls, the son of Duane and Phyllis Atkins Snyder. Pete was a guy who liked living in a small town, like Seneca Falls. It made him feel safe and known. He loved small-town living and big-city sports. Pete would venture to watch the Yankees, Mets, Rochester Red Wings, Syracuse Chiefs, and his favorite Cleveland Browns. Pete was someone who rooted for the underdogs, as evident by his choice of teams. He rooted for people who were underdogs too, believing in the goodness of others and that they, like he, struggled but were made in the image of God. His faith, like his team loyalty, never faltered.

While Pete loved sports and chatting with people, he mostly loved dogs. He loved dogs more than people, particularly his dogs: Freddy Dickenhocker, Ebony, Buffy, Kristen, Patrick, Desi, Grey-Grey, Sammy, and the infamous Baker Mayfield. Peter was most comforted by knowing he would be reuniting on the rainbow bridge with his dogs and being

welcomed to heaven by God.

Pete was a graduate of Mynderse Academy, attended Keuka College, and graduated from SUNY-Geneseo.

Survived by his sister, Susan Horton, nieces Sarah Snyder and Jennifer

Horton, and a nephew Matthew Horton. Predeceased besides his parents is his brother Tim Snyder.

Arrangements are in the care of the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc., 32 State St., Seneca Falls.
