Ronald W. Booth
Ronald W. Booth, 90, of Seneca Falls, New York, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
Born February 10, 1936, in Cape Vincent, New York, Ron grew up along the St. Lawrence River. It was there, in elementary school, that he met Harriet, the woman he would marry and spend his life with. They married on December 25, 1959, and
were together for nearly 66 years.
Ask Ron how he was doing and he'd tell you: "Fair to middlin'." It was the most honest answer he knew.
Ron earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1962. Over a distinguished career as an electrical engineer, he worked on missile flight testing for the United States Navy, contributed to the Minuteman Ground Electronics System, and was part of the team that developed Sylvania's first wireless remote control for color television.
He gave back as an educator as well, teaching basic electricity and later advanced computer courses at the college level.
In 1989, Ron founded Seneca Electronics, a deliberate choice to step back and be present for the people who mattered most.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Harriet Booth (née Dillenback). He is survived by his children: Daphne Booth (Annie); Suzanne DuVall; Mitchel Booth (Karla); Alison Prentice (Gregg); and Amber Charron (David), as well as many grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ron will be laid to rest at a private burial in Cape Vincent, New York, where it all began.
