Edna Mae Watkins (98), formerly of Seneca Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Aaron Manor in Fairport, New York.

Edna was born in Rodman, New York the daughter of William and Mary (Sprague) Waite. She spent her childhood years in the Rodman area with numerous brothers and sisters.  She moved to Seneca Falls following her marriage to Richard C. Watkins who she was married to for 28 years until his death in 1975.

Edna worked for a few years at the Seneca Knitting Mills after first moving to Seneca Falls. She then worked for many years in the Mynderse Academy cafeteria where she was affectionately called "Ma Watkins" by the students there. After Mynderse, she worked as head cook for the Seneca Falls Hospital until her retirement in 1986. 

Edna loved spending time with her family, traveling, doing craftwork, and listening to country music. She also enjoyed watching her Buffalo Bills play on tv while yelling at the referees to open their eyes.

She is survived by Gary Watkins of Arizona, Barbara (Richard) Hacker of Virginia, Kevin (Lorene) Watkins of Alabama, Tammy (Albert) Andrews of Seneca Falls, five grandsons - Eddie, Kristopher, Brandon, Eric and Tristan; five great-grandsons, three great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.



A viewing and service will be held on Friday, December 5th at Sanderson/Moore Funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Seneca County Meals on Wheels can be made.
